Combustion Industries, Inc. (ACI) was established in 1976 as a boiler and refractory
repair business serving Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia. Over
the years, ACI has expanded its services to focus on mechanical and electrical
system installations and renovations. This includes retrofit of all types of heating
and cooling systems and associated construction services. Today, ACI is a leader
in the construction and full service of mechanical and electrical systems used
in commercial facilities. As a complete facility support provider,
ACI has the capabilities to offer a list of complementary services in addition
to its traditional focus on mechanical and electrical contracting. These expanded
services consist of engineering and design/build services, general contracting
and construction management, system commissioning, testing and operation, environmental
and energy conservation services, energy commodities, and project financing. ACI
also has specific expertise in combined heating, cooling, and power generation
for central plant operations, colleges and universities, hospitals, and other
critical-use facilities. ACI has installed systems for
building owners such as The Union Station Development Authority, The District
of Columbia Government, The Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Delta Chemical, Tobyhanna
Army Depot, Quantico Marine Corps Facility, The Naval Security Station, and many
other government and commercial installations. This past year, ACI was awarded
the installation contract for the largest HVAC Combined Cooling, Heating, and
Power project ever awarded in the Washington, DC area with a total value of more
than $60 million dollars. Presently, ACI employs approximately
150 construction, installation, operations, and service personnel. This includes
highly trained steamfitters, plumbers, instrument and system commissioning technicians,
electricians, bricklayers, carpenters, and highly specialized welders. Our office
staff of more than 35, manages the engineering, accounting, estimating, service
dispatching, and project coordination and management activities.
Located in Brentwood, Maryland, ACI maintains a warehouse of 62,000 square feet,
housing an inventory of boilers, chillers, refractory materials, fuel burning
equipment parts and controls, boiler tubes, pipe and fitting supplies, as well
as a wide variety of heavy mechanical and electrical systems equipment
ACI recognizes the immediate need to perform emergency service for our clients.
By maintaining a fleet of over 80 trucks and service vehicles, ACIs Service
Department is available to respond to all customers needs 24-hours a day, 7 days
a week, every day of the year. Our overall capabilities
